This course is open to any student 9-12 who wishes to learn to play piano. Students will learn the basic concepts and fundamentals required to perform first and second year piano literature, using a variety of genres. They will learn to read music, construct scales and perform several types of chords needed for both classical and pop styles of music on electric keyboards. Technic and theory is included. Students will compose music and perform for others at recitals. A $10 lab fee is included for materials.This course fulfills the fine arts elective requirement for graduation.
